MarketWise Solutions is looking for a talented Junior Business Intelligence Analyst to join our  BI team. This role will have a direct impact in building a culture of data driven decision-making where information is timely, accurate and actionable.

 

The Junior Business Intelligence Analyst will be responsible for building out and maintaining multiple aspects of the BI team – from dashboard visualizations to SQL, data modeling, and data warehousing. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter that will use proven communication and problem-solving skills to get work done on a small team. You will have an opportunity to use the latest technology platforms.

 

Experience with Snowflake and Looker is ideal, but not necessary. We’ll help you learn everything you need to know. Our team works hard, works smart, and works together.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the business and technology teams to translate business needs into scalable data models for reporting and analytical consumption.
  • Identify and understand source data systems and become an expert of data sources and flows.
  • Manage reporting infrastructure and ad-hoc requests while maintaining a high-performance environment for data needs
  • Work with business and technology teams to extract data components related to customers, sales, marketing, and accounting for intuitive consumption in the data warehouse.
  • Explore and recommend technologies and techniques to improve DW/BI functions.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong data visualization and analytical skills
  • 1-2+ years experience of hands-on querying experience with MySQL, Postgres, Oracle, or MSSQL.
  • Experience in columnar store database concepts with hands-on experience with Snowflake, AWS Redshift or similar.
  • Experience working with BI tools (Tableau, Looker, PowerBI, Business Objects, Cognos, Microstrategy, SSRS, and QlikView).
  • Experience with marketing analytics a plus
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python a plus
  • Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing. (For CS Roles: Ability to remain seated for extended periods of time)
  • Visual acuity for reading and using the computer
  • Ability to hear
  • Ability to freely move about the office
  • Ability to use the phone/computer/keyboard/mouse/general office equipment for extended periods of time
  • Ability to communicate with others in order to exchange information
  • Fluency in the English language
