Copy Chief

Alta is currently looking for an experienced and dynamic Copy Chief to join the team in the Baltimore office. The mission will be to mentor, train, and lead a world class copywriting team. Additionally you will have the ability to harness your own creativity and produce your own copy. 

If you have a track record of writing successful copy and you are looking for your next opportunity, this the position for you. The ideal candidate not only is energized by the opportunity to manage a team but also continuing to produce copy. 

• Managing and mentoring a team of copywriters
• Hiring new ambitious copywriters as the need arises
• Ability to review, critique, and provide constructive feedback on the team's copy output
• Run the creative vision, strategy, and vision for the copy department
• Develop a formalized and repeatable on-boarding plan for new employees
• Continue to write and produce copy as necessary
• Travel frequently between the Baltimore and Brooksville, FL offices, and attend industry events as necessary

• Successful experience as a direct response copywriter
• Previous management experience is highly desired
• Hands-on management approach with the team, and ability to delegates tasks to meet deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Able to motivate a team of seasoned professionals
• Communicate strategy and status to management team as desired
• Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
• Visual acuity for reading and using the computer
• Ability to hear
• Ability to freely move about the office
• Ability to use the phone/computer/keyboard/mouse/general office equipment for extended periods of time
• Ability to communicate with others in order to exchange information
• Fluency in the English language
